Welcome to A Little Seedy - Australia's first organic grow box subscription!
.
My name is Georgia, and I'm the owner and lead grower here at A Little Seedy. I'm so thankful you've taken the time to visit us and learn a little bit more about us, and our growing club :)
.
Since starting our initiative in Summer 2019, we've seen incredible success from our growers thus far, and we're so excited to help even more people expand both their garden patch and growing skills in 2020.
.
If you've ever thought about growing food from home - then we'd love to help you on your way. Our family is exactly that - a close knit community of growers who help and support one other through the ups, downs and learning curves that the garden requires. Together, we're transforming apartment courtyards, balconies, suburban backyards into rewarding and thriving urban food gardens. And we'd love to share this journey with you too.

About Georgia - Co Founder and Lead Grower

Georgia has been a food gardening addict for some time now. In her early years, she helped her mother in the garden every weekend on semi-rural acreage in North Queensland, growing a range of fruits, vegetables and herbs.
.
Since moving down to Brisbane some eight years ago, Georgia has continued to expand her repertoire and skills by growing an edible garden in various urban environments in SE QLD. Juggling professional work in the medical administration field with tertiary studies in Business and Marketing - she'll still most often be found out in the garden, tending to her plants.
.
Quickly gaining a reputation amongst friends and family as the go to "green thumb", Georgia found herself being frequently called upon to advise and help those around her in starting their own edible gardens - something she thoroughly enjoyed helping with.

After a while, Georgia realised that most people she spoke with really loved the idea of growing their own food at home - they just didn't know where to start, were too busy to plan a food garden year round, or didn't trust their ability to grow food productively.
.
She also noticed some common themes in where her friends and family were going wrong - often growing from inferior hybrid seedlings grown en masse with chemical starters (purchased at commercial hardware of garden stores), and often selecting species that were not appropriate for the season, climate or local growing conditions.

She also noticed some common errors in planting, pollination, soil maintenance and more - things which were undermining the hard work many of heir friends were putting into their gardens.

A Little Seedy thus became a natural extension of what Georgia has been doing for some years now - helping people find quality, heirloom and organic seed stock to grow from, selecting species which are likely to succeed in their climate region for that season, and teaching them the basic principles of caring for these plants through to harvest.
.
Her vision when starting A Little Seedy was to help more people around Australia benefit from successful and thriving food gardens - and she's passionate about doing exactly that.

About Nathan - Co founder of A Little Seedy

When Nathan and Georgia first met each other, they bonded immediately over a shared love of the garden.

Nathan hails from Western Australia, where he grew up on the family farm growing hectares of wine grapes, watermelon, rockmelon, corn, tomatoes and more.

His farming background is close to his heart. Although he now works as a professional in the medical field, he still feels at home on the land, and in growing food.

Georgia and Nathan use their combined experience in growing food - one in urban gardens, and the other on a large scale farm - in planning and designing each and every grow box sent out our members.
